Composite decking is the right call for most South Jersey homeowners — it handles the humidity, holds up through freeze-thaw cycles, and doesn't need to be stained, sealed, or treated every year. Legacy Contracting installs Trex, TimberTech, and AZEK composite systems and has been doing it long enough to know which products perform in this climate and which ones just look good in a brochure.
We design and build composite decks from the ground up — single-level, multi-level, pool surrounds, rooftop decks, and everything in between. One crew handles the whole project: framing, decking, railing, stairs, lighting, and permit coordination.

All three are quality composite systems but they have different profiles and price points. Trex is the most widely used and offers good value across multiple lines. TimberTech has a more realistic wood grain and slightly better fade resistance. AZEK is a cellular PVC product — not technically composite — with the highest moisture resistance and the longest warranty. We'll help you pick based on your budget, your aesthetic, and how the deck will be used.
Quality composite decking carries 25–30 year fade and stain warranties from the manufacturer. The deck structure (framing, posts, footings) is typically pressure-treated lumber rated for 20+ years. A properly installed composite deck will outlast most pressure-treated wood decks with a fraction of the maintenance.
Minimal. Composite decking doesn't need to be stained, sealed, or painted. Annual cleaning with a composite deck cleaner and a garden hose is typically enough to keep it looking good. Avoid pressure washing directly at the grain — it can raise the surface texture over time.
Yes — any deck attached to a home in New Jersey requires a permit. Requirements vary by municipality. We handle the permit process as part of the job so you don't have to navigate your local building department on your own.
In most cases, yes. Composite costs more upfront but eliminates staining, sealing, and board replacement every few years. Over a 15-year span the total cost of ownership is often comparable — and you get a better-looking deck the whole time.
We build throughout Camden, Gloucester, and Burlington counties — Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Moorestown, Mount Laurel, Marlton, Voorhees, Medford, Washington Township, Sewell, Mullica Hill, Haddon Heights, Runnemede, Woolwich Township, and surrounding communities.
Same crew, same standards, same accountability on every job. We spend your money like it's our own — because we know what it took to earn it.
Get a Free EstimateWell done guys. Thanks for the friendly service and saving not only my deck but my house. Would absolutely recommend Legacy to anyone looking for quality work done right.
Fabulous job. Very detail oriented and efficient. The crew was professional from start to finish and the final product exceeded expectations. I would not hesitate to recommend them.
Great work and the final product was beautiful. They communicated clearly throughout — we always knew what was happening and when to expect the crew.
Great service, super friendly. They treated my home like it was their own — that's exactly what you want from a contractor. I'll definitely use them for other jobs in the future.
Great group of people. Never had a bad experience. Hired them twice — both times the crew showed up on time, worked clean, and left the property in better shape than they found it.
Experience was refreshingly informal — the team kept things casual and clear. No sales pressure, no runaround. They quoted it, built it, and it looks exactly like we discussed.
